Get Help Arranging Child Maintenance

Child Maintenance Services are introducing a new online service called ‘Get Help Arranging Child Maintenance’ (GHACM) which supports separated families in deciding whether to use CMS or go for a family-based arrangement.

This is a significant change as it means that from 04 November 2024, they will stop providing the Child Maintenance Choices service, and those who wish to apply to CMS will need to use the GHACM service instead. 

Get Help Arranging Child Maintenance is an online tool that will replace the current Child Maintenance Choices service. Customers can use the GHACM tool to find information about the child maintenance options available to them and will receive a reference number which will allow them to make an online application, should they decide to use the Child Maintenance Service.   

GHACM will be available via Child Maintenance Service pages on nidrect.gov.uk from 04 November 2024.  

Child Maintenance Choices will continue to provide service as usual, until 04 November 2024.
