Dickson welcomes Transport NI improvements that benefit East Antrim

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed the upgrades on infrastructure programmes that will benefit East Antrim.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “In the next six months, the Newtownabbey area will see the completion of a number of infrastructure projects that will realise significant benefits for both the local community and commuters in and out of my East Antrim Constituency.

“The coming months will see upgrades completed including the A8 Ballynure Road from Corrs Corner Roundabout to Houstons Roundabout and Carnmoney Rd, Newtownabbey; this represents an investment of £1.19million.

“Additional funding was also secured in the October Monitoring Round and that will facilitate the delivery of a further £800,000 of structural maintenance work in the Newtownabbey area this financial year.

“It is also worth noting other infrastructure works in the area recently completed, including £750,000 invested to resurface 1.8kilometres of carriageway, most notably at the A2 Station Road Roundabout at Shore Road Newtownabbey.”
