Dickson Addresses Pensioners Parliament

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, answered questions from members of the Mid & East Antrim Pensioners Parliament, as a member of an expert panel at the Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena on Tuesday the 15th of May.

A range of issues were covered, such as access to Health, Social Care and Transport.

Mr Dickson commented afterwards: “Mid and East Antrim has a huge elderly population and it’s crucial that we don’t forget or ignore them. They face particular challenges that some of us don’t think about most of the time, even trying to get around can become difficult in your later years.

“It’s important that we are more sympathetic to and consider our older citizens, and ensure that they feel safe and supported. Every week, we hear yet another story of a pensioner being scammed out of their money; we need to put more measures in place to prevent these and other crimes.”
