Dickson Encourages People to Check if they are Eligible for Extra Financial Help

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has encouraged local people to check NI Direct for the range of financial support available to people who need short term financial help.

Mr Dickson commented: “Covid-19 has affected our lives in many ways, putting pressures on many household budgets for a number of reasons. If you have a need for short-term financial support, there may be help available from the Department for Communities.

“These include benefit advances, Universal Credit short-term living expenses grants, Social Fund budgeting loan and maternity grant and Discretionary Support, which also includes the new Discretionary Support self-isolation grant to support people who need to self-isolate due to Covid-19.
