Dickson Encourages People to Join Organ Donation Register

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has called on local people to consider joining the organ donor register, if they have not already done so.

Mr Dickson commented: "It’s Organ Donation Week, and so it’s the perfect time for people to join the organ donation register.

"I think most people want to donate their organs when they pass on, however only 43% have signed the NHS Organ Donor Register. Many may not realise it, but it is such a simple and quick process, and it can save so many lives.

"Furthermore, in the event of your death, your next of kin will have the final say on whether your organs can be donated - so remember to talk about your wishes with family."
