Dickson Shows Support for World Cancer Day 2020

East Antrim MLA, Stewart Dickson, has expressed his strong support for World Cancer Day 2020 events to raise awareness of efforts in cancer detection, prevention and treatment.

Mr Dickson commented: “Few people have not felt the impact of cancer in their lives, whether it is a family member or friend fighting the disease, or even themselves. Personally, I am currently recovering from surgery and treatment for oesophageal cancer and I want to thank all those who supported me, especially the exceptional healthcare staff at Belfast City Hospital.

“Now the Assembly has returned, we have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive Cancer Strategy for Northern Ireland, and ensure that the system gets the funding and leadership it needs to deliver the best care possible.”
